In the original publication we had erroneously stated: “This is not the case. Instead, these reconciled trees show that TRPM8 forms a sister clade to TRPM2, the former not containing any nonvertebrate sequences, and the latter containing vertebrate and nonvertebrate sequences.”  This was the result of an oversight during editing, and should read: “… the former not containing any non lobe-finned sequences, and the latter containing lobe-finned and non-lobe-finned sequences.”
